Fred Ling, the 17 year old racing in this year’s BTRDA Clubmans Rallycross Championship has been getting on exceptionally well in his debut season. Sponsored by EDT and racing in a modified Citroën saxo, Ling has managed a solid start to the season, currently sitting 6th in the Driver’s standings.

David Holmes, managing director at EDT Automotive, said: “Fred is an exceptional young driver and we’re delighted to be associated with him. He has started the season really well and is showing a lot of promise.”

Ling’s Saxo underwent the EDT treatment before the season began, with real world results showing the treatment can increase fuel economy by up to 20%, power by up to 6bhp and torque by up to 7ft-lb.

Inbetween racing, Ling is currently studying A-levels at Homewood School in Tenterden, and was named best newcomer in the 2015 series despite missing the first round because he was four days too young. This season however, he was eligible to race after celebrating his 17th birthday the day before the Championship began at the Blyton circuit in Lincolnshire.
